We look at why you want it, how to measure the sizes of fuse required and how best to fit them in your controller or for power injection. We also look at a board that had the wrong size of fusing installed & the consequences.
In this video we run through how to backup your FPP Config to your PC/Mac. We then make an ‘accidental’ change to mess things up, and then restore the config from the backup made at the start of the video.
If you’re running a good length of pixels in a single run, such as right across the house, then you’re going to struggle with getting power to more than ~200 pixels.
What is the optimal way to get power to the far end of the string in the safest manner when using a second power supply?
We cover these questions and more in this weeks guide… finishing up with a practical demonstration.
This week we take a new at creating a show network with a second router… But it can get quite complicated, so we also look at a simpler approach and explain why.
In this FPP Short, we take a look at the scheduler. How we can stack entries to make a nice simple schedule & then by enabling advanced features we can set granular timing to allow more precise control over when our events / playlists are run.
In this video we run through how to setup a Virtual matrix in FPP v9, test it & then complete the build by setting it up in xLights 2025_06 creating a short sequence using the butterfly effect, saving the sequence & finally testing it in FPP.
In this weeks video we’re adding on to last week where we learnt about setting up a Virtual Matrix in FPP v9 on a Raspberry Pi.
We run through how you play a video file instead of matrix (fseq) data when using your main (master) FPP instance and then do a similar but slightly differrent setup if you’re using a remote Pi to run your Matrix.
Sometimes its not possible to run an ethernet cable from your home router to your show in the front yard… In this video we run through setting up a Proxy in FPP v9. The Pi connects to your home wifi network, and the controllers are then wired to the pi. We then setup a new Baldrick controller in xLights 2025.6, push the config to the Baldrick and FPP and then test in FPP.
Note: 18 Aug 25 – I read earlier that the FPP v9 Proxy issues had been resolved in the master branch.
So, I’ve started a fresh image, updated to master and then tested – still no joy.
In this video we’re taking a look at the Master / Remote functionality in FPP v9 and demonstrating why its needed and then how to implement it. Note: There is an issue with copying files between Master & Remote in this release of FPPv9 but it is on the Alpha (testing) release. I have raised a bug with the team #2276
In this weeks video we demonstrate how to add a button to a Raspberry Pi running FPP v9 to allow our audience to interact with our show and start a sequence – or more. We also run through how a seond Pi or BBB could be used as part of a podium, so users could chose one or multiple different sequences on a portable device that can put away after show time.
