FPP Reset !

This week’s short is how to reset FPP back to a factory fresh install.

Sometimes, whilst trying new settings or getting a new feature working as you want, you end up making a hash of it and need to do a complete reset. Where you may have previously opted for a re-flash of your SD card with a new instance, these days you can do it far more easily.

In FPP, go to Status/Control, FPP Settings.
Select the UI Tab and then under User Interface change User Interface Level to Advanced.
(This will enable the reset feature in the menu).
Next, select the System Tab and then scroll all the way to the bottom of the System page to the button ‘Reset FPP Config’. Click that and you’ll get a popup menu where you can check the areas that you wish to reset. Typically I click the ‘Everything’ button to reset all but the network settings (so I can get back in).
Once clicked, then click the reset button at the bottom right and Ok the popup that appears.
Click Ok on the next popup screen and then scroll right back to the top (or click Show Alert) and finally click the Reboot button (and associated popup).

The device will then reboot & you’re ready to start afresh!

Have fun 🙂
